Robots are an innovative blend of scientific, technological, and various other fields, systematically integrated. Their unique and captivating appearance makes them easily approachable, making robots an excellent and engaging medium to introduce children to the mechanical systems, science, and technology inherent within them in a fun way. Recognizing the importance of conveying scientific and technological knowledge through robots, the National Science Museum, an organization dedicated to developing and managing science museums in Thailand, conceived a permanent exhibition on robotics titled “The Exhibition ROBOT: Intelligent Machines.”<\/strong> This exhibition aims to showcase robots’ internal structures, the functioning of various mechanisms, control systems, precision, and intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Field Robotics Institute was tasked with designing and building robots to serve as educational tools for science and technology for exhibition visitors. The research team designed and constructed five robots<\/strong> for this project, with details as follows:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/line> <\/svg><\/span>Humanoid Robot<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Humanoid Robot<\/strong> is designed to display its internal structure, allowing clear visibility of its various components. This offers an educational advantage for studying the mechanical devices that drive different parts of the robot. The robot has a human-like appearance and can perform 10 pre-programmed movements<\/strong> with accompanying sounds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/line> <\/svg><\/span>Receptionist Robot<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Receptionist Robot<\/strong> is designed for public relations within the robot exhibition area. It can move in controlled directions, greet, and interact with visitors. Its movements are synchronized with its speech. The robot features LED lights in its eyes to display emotions<\/strong> and a display screen on its body<\/strong> to complement its public relations messages. A webcam is installed in the robot’s head<\/strong>, capable of transmitting images to the body’s display screen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Automatic Robotic Arm<\/strong> showcases a robot’s accuracy<\/strong> and repeatability<\/strong>\u2014key strengths and advantages that have led to the widespread adoption of robots in industrial applications. The robot is presented in a basketball-themed demonstration<\/strong>, making it easy for visitors to understand and engage with its capabilities. It performs the task of shooting a basketball into a hoop<\/strong>, a task that demands significant precision in terms of position, direction, and the amount of force applied during the throw. This allows visitors to fully appreciate and comprehend the robot’s abilities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
